Critical Power
Using the grid as the backup

One of our investment properties required an “uninterruptible power supply” (UPS) system for critical data, CCTV, fire and security systems. The conventional approach to this is to use batteries charged by grid power, which can run for a limited amount of time in the event of a power failure.
As we have concerns about the reliability of the UK grid, we decided to turn this situation around. Rather than the batteries being the backup to the grid, we made solar the primary power source, with batteries supporting the power need when there is no sun. The grid then acts as the backup. As the system is oversized, the entire data system of this property does not use the grid at all. This means free energy, independent of the grid. It also means that in the event of a prolonged grid power failure, this building’s tech will carry on as normal.
This technology works, it is here now and it is tried and tested. It is also available to you. Get in touch to see how we can help you have a similar system.
