Resilience

The UK government’s “Be Ready” campaign has advised all UK residents to be self-sufficient for three days without power, water or internet, with stored food and water.

We help customers become resilient and independent in uncertain times. Our strategy and suite of technical solutions mean you are not vulnerable to whatever the government thinks we need to be “ready” to deal with.

Our approach

  1. Strategise

We establish which risks you want to mitigate, whether that is loss of power, cyber attacks, failed water supplies, extreme heat, prolonged loss of heating, communication with loved ones or food supply issues.

  2. Design

Following a strategy meeting and a survey of your property, we design the most appropriate solution for you, using the range of technologies listed below. We integrate all systems for efficiency, ease of use and reliability.

  3. Install

Our experienced engineers install the system in a way that minimises disruption and visual impact. How the equipment looks, and the experience you have, are as important as the resilience of the system itself.

  4. Train

These systems matter most at a time when outside support may be hard to reach. That is why we train all family members, workers and system users. We train as a group and adjust the training to the level of understanding of those in it.

  5. Maintain

While society’s systems are still functioning, we offer ongoing maintenance to keep your system ready for natural disasters, civil unrest and extreme weather.

Resilience Packages

We provide integrated “Resilience Packages” for homes, businesses and community groups for survival during natural disasters. These systems can include:

  • Solar PV to produce energy when grid power is down.
  • Backup generators and fuel storage to keep producing power through the darkest months.
  • Battery storage to capture solar energy for later use and to make the most efficient use of generators.
  • Inverter systems that provide “mains” 240 V power for key appliances when grid energy is down.
  • Citizens band (CB) radio systems to communicate with loved ones within a few miles. These need no internet or other third-party systems.
  • Satellite internet systems to stay connected when normal domestic and commercial internet is down.
  • Reverse-osmosis water filtration to purify water to drinking standard if mains water is unsafe or unavailable.
  • Air-source heat pumps and air conditioning, powered by solar and batteries, to provide heating and cooling when grid energy or mains gas is unavailable.
  • Frozen food storage systems optimised for off-grid use.
  • Modifications to existing electrical systems to enable a seamless switchover to “resilience mode”.

By taking an integrated approach, we can install a comprehensive system swiftly and neatly. Installing the full system in one go also avoids the disruption of running multiple cable routes.
